The MAUSER Group in 2008 achieved revenues of about EUR 1 billion. This is an increase of approx. 5% compared to 2007 in currencies as reported. Growth in units was about 11%. There was a shift towards lower price per unit products that mainly contributed to these growth rates, partly offset by the effects of a strenghtening US-Dollar and some price increases due to the rise in raw material cost.
The Group was successful in achieving volume growth in nearly all its divisions and regions in the first three quarters of 2008 against the same period in 2007. Especially Reco, Fiber and Metal as well as Mauser’s Asia Business flourished. In the fourth quarter also the MAUSER Group had suffered from the global crisis and significantly reduced activities at most of its customers leading to a significant decline against the same period of the year before.
